With 25 years of experience, Jackie has held licenses in Italy and the USA. She has worked in Balogna Italy, Fallschurch Virginia, and Orange County, in California. She has worked Fashion Shows both in Houston and Austin, Texas as well.

She was owner of Ebony & Ivory, and Hair Design by Jackie here in Austin.
Jackie has had special training and many years experience in doing Ethnic / Black hair. She is well schooled in doing the relaxer, permanents, and curl techniques, as well as cutting and styling of Black hair. Sorry Jackie does not do micro braids.

European training assists her in her hair color, razor cutting, and many styling techniques. She is a master in curling iron techniques and difficult hair cuts.

Removal of superfluous hair by threading, is also one of her specialties. She has special training and has been doing this technique for many years and imports the special cotton thread to do this technique.

Threading (unwanted hair removal)

What is threading?

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal still used in many countries in the Middle East as well as India and Pakistan. It is used to give clean lines and good shape to the eyebrows and also remove hair from the upper lip and other facial areas.

How does it work?

100% cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin entwining the hair in the thread which is then lifted out from the follicle.

How long before hair returns?

About the same as with tweezing, anywhere between
3 and 8 weeks.

Do I need to do anything before/after the removal?

Cleanse the area the day before the treatment, not the day of treatment for best results. The thread does not catch the hair when it is too clean.

Apply neither makeup or lotions to the area to be treated.
Please, avoid touching the area after treatment to avoid irritation as the pores are open.
